L’étang – an exhibition at the mediatheque in Loctudy
In December 2015 I mounted an exhibition in the library of Loctudy, a small town in the pays Bigouden, a Breton region where I've spent a great deal of time these last seven years. The exhibition focusses on the Etang de Trunvel, an estuary located between the towns of Tréguennec and Plovan on the Baie d'Audierne. This estuary is the most important stopover point for migratory birds transiting from Africa to Europe in the spring (and the reverse in the fall). I showed 27 collages, of which ten were framed traditionally; the remainder implicated themselves in the life of the library, either in the windows or on the shelves. Shortly after the show opened, there were three articles in the regional press and the library hosted an atelier open to the public where we could all make artwork following my format. Some 30 people--young and old alike--attended and the results were fascinating.
moments of excellence
It started with a few Christmas cards. Now I'm designing theme parks.
